COP (Coefficient of Performance) shows how much heat the pump produces per kWh of electricity consumed. A COP of 4 means that for 1 kWh of electricity you get 4 kWh of heat, 4x more efficient than direct heating.
Yes, modern heat pumps work efficiently down to -20°C. For extreme conditions we recommend hybrid systems with a backup heating source.
